Marco Antonio Solís at Golden 1: getting there from Davis
Doors 7pm, show ends 11pm, and the last Yolobus 42A leaves at 10:57. Every honest way from Davis to Golden 1 Center on Sep 25 — including the way home.

Marco Antonio Solís brings Tour Gratitud 2026 to Golden 1 Center on Friday, September 25. Doors at 7:00pm, show at 8:00pm, scheduled end at 11:00pm, at 500 David J Stern Walk in downtown Sacramento. (Golden 1 Center)
From Davis it is a short run — I-80 east, then straight into the grid. The drive out is not the hard part. The hard part is 11pm, when an arena empties at once and you still have to be back in Davis.
So here is every honest option, with the trip home treated as half the problem instead of an afterthought.
What the venue actually tells you to do
Golden 1 Center does not run its own lots. It points you to pre-paid parking passes bought online through the City of Sacramento's SacPark system, and says the garages tied to the arena open two hours before the event. Spaces "are not assigned but first-come, first-served," and pre-purchasing a specific garage "is subject to availability and is not guaranteed." (Directions & Parking)
Two more things from that page that change your night:
- No shuttles from the downtown garages. You walk. The arena lists pedestrian walkways at 5th & J, 7th & K, and 5th & L.
- Bike valet is free. The Sacramento Area Bike Association runs a complimentary valet at Ali Yousseffi Square, 7th & K — open two hours before major events and half an hour after. No use from Davis directly; very useful if you are already downtown.
The venue page publishes no lot prices — those live on SacPark — so look them up rather than guess.
The train, and a shorter walk than you'd think
The Capitol Corridor runs Davis to Sacramento Valley Station all day, and the arena is genuinely close. Capitol Corridor's own events page calls Golden 1 Center "an easy 6-minute walk (0.3 miles) from the Sacramento Station." (Sports & Entertainment)
Getting there is solved. Getting back is where it breaks — and we are not going to print a departure time in a post you might read three weeks from now, because timetables move. Do this instead: open the schedule, find the last westbound departure to Davis on Friday the 25th, and write it on your hand. Then hold it next to an 11:00pm scheduled finish. Encores run long. The last train out is very often earlier than the last song.
That is not a knock on the train. Davis to Sacramento by rail is one of the genuinely good things about living here. It is a knock on the hours — and those hours are exactly why the way home needs a plan of its own.
Yolobus 42, which stops at the door
Underrated: Yolobus's intercity loop has a stop named, literally, L & 5th (Golden 1 Center).
- Out: Route 42B runs counter-clockwise — Woodland, Davis, West Sacramento, downtown — hourly, seven days a week. On campus it picks up at the UC Davis Memorial Union.
- Back: Route 42A is the same loop clockwise, so it is the one that carries you from L & 5th back to the Memorial Union.
Read 42A's weekday timetable before you commit, because it is tight. As published today, the last 42A of the day leaves L & 5th at 10:57pm (Route 42A) — three minutes before the show's scheduled end. Check it again the week of the concert, and plan as though you are not making it.
The option that solves the 11pm problem
Cars are going to leave Davis for downtown Sacramento that Friday, and most cars on any road have empty seats.
That is the whole idea behind TAGO. It is a carpool for students: you sign in with your
.edu email, say where you are going, and see who else is going the same way. Nobody is
running a service here — it is people with a car and people without one, sharing the cost of
a trip that was happening anyway.
Two things that matter for a concert specifically:
The return leg is part of the plan. For events and places, you sort the way back at the same time you sort the way out — not at 11:05pm on David J Stern Walk with one bar of signal.
Your share is capped. What a rider contributes can never exceed the IRS standard business mileage rate for the day of the trip. That is a legal ceiling on cost-sharing, enforced in the code behind every trip rather than promised in an ad. Past the first eight miles the per-mile rate eases down.
Nobody can promise a car will be there — it depends who is going, which is why posting early beats searching late. The Marco Antonio Solís page on TAGO shows how many people are going; routes and names stay private until you sign in with your .edu.
The five-minute plan
- Driving? Buy the SacPark pass in advance, and arrive knowing the garage opens two hours before doors.
- Not driving? Decide the way back before you decide the way there.
- Look up the last Capitol Corridor departure to Davis on Friday, September 25, and the last 42A from L & 5th. Write both down.
- If either lands before 11:00pm, you need a car in the plan.
- Agree an exact meeting spot in advance — 5th & J, 7th & K and 5th & L will all be moving at once.
